Veneers from just £250 per tooth

Veneers are one of the UK’s most popular dental cosmetic treatments. They are commonly used for smile makers or other aesthetic dental procedures.

Veneers can be either made of porcelain or composite, subject to the result you are looking to achieve. Composite veneers are less expensive, but also don’t last as long as porcelain, so it’s worth having a good chat with us before you decide which is right for you.

Veneers provide a subtle and natural finish with most people not being able to tell the difference between veneers and natural teeth. As well as looking great they can create a new smile much faster than moving the teeth by using Invisalign or other orthodontic treatment.

Veneers can be colour matched to your natural teeth, meaning they are indistinguishable when looking at them side by side, and therefore provide a natural looking smile.

More about Veneers

When veneers are fitted correctly, they will not ruin your teeth. However, some of the original tooth will need to be removed in order to fit the veneer. Once the tooth has been prepared you will always need either a veneer or composite bonding to restore the tooth.

No, your veneers can be removed at any point by your dentist. However, in most cases you will always need some kind of veneer to restore the tooth.

A small amount of your current tooth is removed and shaped in order to create a base for the veneer to be fitted to. A porcelain or composite veneer will be pre-made and bonded to the natural tooth to produce a natural looking tooth.

The price of veneers can vary. As you only need the front upper six and lower six, not every tooth will require a veneer.

No. Used correctly veneers can be a great solution to a wide range of dental issues.

What other Options are available?

When it comes to changing the shape of your teeth, there are various options:

  • Composite Bonding Composite bonding is often used as an alternative for closing gaps in the teeth, otherwise known as a diastema, or for subtle re-shaping of the teeth. The treatment can usually be completed in one visit and provides instant results. It is also considerably cheaper than porcelain.
  • Composite Veneers – Composite veneers are similar to composite bonding. However a composite veneer is added to the front of the teeth, and then blended using additional composite bonding to create your new smile. Composite veneers typically last up to five years before needing to be replaced, which makes them a mid-term solution. Many patients choose composite veneers to start with, then replace these for porcelain in the future once they have gotten used to their new smile.
  • Porcelain Veneers – Porcelain veneers are a more permanent solution and last 15-20 years. The technique is similar to composite veneers. However, the material used is different. Porcelain is easier to maintain and generally reflects the light in a more aesthetically pleasing way.
  • Orthodontics– Invisalign is the clear winner when it comes to invisible orthodontics. Moving healthy teeth into a better position is usually the best course of treatment where possible, as there is no preparation work needed and all of your teeth will still be your natural teeth. A popular benefit is that you can whiten your teeth whenever you like, and the colour of all of your teeth will be the same.

It’s hard to know which treatment will be right for you, which is why we can offer a “Smile Design” appointment. In this, you can speak to our dental team about the changes you wish to make, and we can explain all of the various options you could consider.
